 I borrowed  my first camera in the second grade and never really put it down. Growing up in Howard County, Maryland, surrounded by horses and wide open countryside, I learned early that the natural world rewards those who slow down and pay attention.

Today, much of my work takes me to Assateague Island, where the legendary wild ponies have roamed free for centuries. I have spent countless hours exploring that barrier island — watching, waiting, and learning the rhythms of the herd. My childhood with horses gave me a certain patience with animals, an understanding that the best moments come to those who earn them.

The Eastern Shore holds another piece of my heart. My grandfather was a Waterman — one of the men who have worked the waters of the Chesapeake Bay for generations, by hand and by tide. That heritage lives in me, and it shows up in my photography. I am drawn to the workboats, the crab houses, the early morning light on the water, and the quiet dignity of people who have built their lives around this land and this bay.

These are not just beautiful subjects. They are places and traditions worth protecting. Through my photography, I hope to share what I have seen — and inspire others to care about what remains.
