Tips to Stay Safe and Create Great Wildlife Photography with your iPhone

To get the best wildlife shots keep them wild. For ponies, you need to be 40' away (the length of a school bus). This allows your subjects to be calm and acting as wildlife. NO

SELFIES with wildlife. Never put yourself or the ponies at risk.

Use your built-in zoom lens to get very close in shots.

How to Switch to 5x Zoom (supported on iPhone 15 pro max +)

• Open the Camera app on your iPhone.

• Look for the lens preset circles at the bottom of the screen (showing options like .5x, 1x, 2x, and 5x).

• Tap the 5x button directly to snap to the optical telephoto lens.

• Alternatively, touch and hold an existing zoom button, then drag your finger along the dial, or pinch out on the screen to reach

  

  

  Use the dial above and slide around to the right to zoom in.

Use built-in Focus and exposure

Open the Camera app, then tap anywhere on the screen. A yellow box will appear for focus. Move the box around and focus on the eyes. The small sun icon will show up right next to it. Drag the sun up to make the photo brighter or down to make it darker. If you are taking pictures in bright sun and sand, make your picture darker so you wont loose detail on the white on the ponies.

Here is a quick walkthrough on how to use it:

• Open the Camera app.

• Tap your main subject on the screen.

• You can move the focus box around with your finger.

• Look for the sun icon next to the yellow focus square.

• Swipe up on the sun to increase exposure (brighten).

• Swipe down on the sun to decrease exposure (darken)

Taking Burst Shots

• On-Screen Method: Press the white shutter button and slide it left immediately. Keep holding it until you finish taking photos.

• Volume Up Method: Go to Settings > Camera and turn on Use Volume Up for Burst. Press and hold the Volume Up button inside the Camera app to shoot a burst

Reviewing and Saving Photos

• Open the photos app and tap the Burst thumbnail.

• Tap Select at the bottom of the screen.

Swipe through the pictures and check the circles next to the ones you want to keep as single photos, then tap Done.
